The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research (MER) team of Nokhbagan Hoshmand Management Consultancy Services (NH) recently conducted a field visit to Takhar Province, engaging with the Directorate of Economy and the Directorate of Public Health to better understand the province’s economic and health landscape. The visit aimed to assess current conditions, identify institutional and community-level needs, and gather evidence to inform the design of practical and context-responsive development interventions.

During meetings with officials from the Directorate of Economy, discussions focused on the status of local businesses, employment opportunities, market challenges, and the operational environment for small and medium enterprises. The NH team explored issues such as limited access to finance, skills gaps, value chain constraints, and the need for stronger coordination between public institutions and the private sector. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of targeted business support initiatives, capacity-building programs, and market-oriented strategies that can strengthen economic resilience and promote inclusive growth in the province.
In parallel, consultations with the Directorate of Public Health highlighted key priorities within the provincial health system, including service accessibility in remote areas, resource and infrastructure limitations, workforce capacity, and community awareness on preventive healthcare. The MER team conducted initial assessments and stakeholder discussions to better understand gaps in service delivery, monitoring systems, and program effectiveness. Insights gathered from the visit will support the design of evidence-based health projects aimed at improving service quality, strengthening local health management capacities, and enhancing community engagement.
The field visit reflects NH’s commitment to ground its consulting and research work in real local contexts. By combining institutional consultations, field observations, and data collection, NH seeks to design responsive projects that address pressing economic and health challenges while contributing to sustainable development outcomes in Takhar Province.
