Objectives (Scope) – Conducting honey processing center assessment, developing contextual training materials, delivering training, facilitate on the -job learning, and ensure effective capacity building
Tasks (Performance Requirements): The Honey Business Development Specialist will perform the following tasks respectively:
- Conduct assessments of honey production sites and processing center to identify opportunities, challenges, and growth potential for honey businesses.
- Develop and implement business development strategies and operational plans to improve production efficiency, product quality, and market reach.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and on-the-job mentoring to beekeepers, cooperatives, and small-scale honey enterprises.
- Design and deliver practical training on modern beekeeping practices, honey processing, quality assurance, packaging, and storage.
- Develop contextual training materials, manuals, and standard operating procedures tailored to local honey production and processing needs.
- Facilitate linkages between producers, suppliers, buyers, and relevant stakeholders to expand domestic and international market access.
- Monitor production processes, product quality, compliance with food safety standards, and trends in the honey market.
- Provide guidance on business planning, financial literacy, and enterprise management to strengthen honey businesses.
- Prepare progress reports, training completion reports, and market performance analyses; document lessons learned; and support operational activities for effective project implementation and monitoring.
Deliverables: The Specialist is responsible for the following deliverables:

Job Requirement:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and Livestock field. A Master’s degree in this field will be an advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably with a reputable INGO or UN agency.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to prepare reports, training materials, and documentation accurately.
- Honest, proactive, well-mannered, and professional.
- Open to Afghan nationals.
Languages: Written and Spoken Fluency in English and Dari and/or Pashto, both.
Geography: Based in Kabul, if needed will be traveling to provinces
